We recently discovered the Institute for Catholic Culture, a ministry organized and directed by the Reverend Deacon Sabatino Carnazzo, M. A. Here is the Institute’s Mission Statement:
The Institute of Catholic Culture is an adult catechetical organization, faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, and dedicated to the Church’s call for a new evangelization. The Institute seeks to fulfill its mission by offering education programs structured upon the classical liberal arts and by offering opportunities in which authentic Catholic culture is experienced and lived.
The Institute’s Board is filled with faithful luminaries, including Bishop Robert Morlino, Father Joseph Fessio, S.J., Fr. Paul Scalia , and Timothy McDonnell, President of Christendom College.
Our family has only started to work through the ICC’s vast library of lectures, most presented in both video and audio formats. The lectures are about 50 minutes long and make for great listening for commuting or family car trips.
The following is just a sample of the lectures we have enjoyed so far. All are well-organized, well-reasoned and supported, orthodox, and entertaining:
Fr. Andrew Hofer, O.P. , Original Sin
Rev. William Saunders, Creation or Evolution
Alice von Hildebrand, Essential Elements, The Role of Women in the Church and Society
Philip Barth, Ph.D., Science and Faith: The Myth of Conflict
Br. Thomas Davenport, O.P., Albert the Great: Reclaiming Science for God
Bishop Morlino, Dignitatis Humanae
Whether you are interested in History, Literature, Philosophy, Theology, Scripture, or the hottest issues facing today’s society, you will find lectures that edify and invigorate.
But don’t take our word for it, go to http://www.instituteofcatholicculture.org/. It beats talk radio!
